Singapore is one of the top APAC countries hiring remote workers: report
The top job Singaporean organisations are hiring for is as a Virtual Assistant.
Singapore is one of the top countries in Asia Pacific hiring remote workers, alongside Australia and India, a report revealed.
According to Deen Labs’s State of Global Hiring Report, Singaporean companies mostly hire software engineers and developers, virtual assistants, content writers, and workers who belong to business development and sales.
The top five countries Singapore organisations hire from are Indonesia, China, Vietnam, the UK, and India.
In contrast, the report revealed that the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Hong Kong are the top five countries hiring Singaporean remote employees for jobs such as traders, software engineers, and sales and product roles.
According to Deel’s Regional Head of Expansion and Market for Singapore, ASEAN, and India, Karen Ng, despite the talent shortage that the country is facing, Singapore became one of the fastest-growing markets in the APAC region by the number of companies remotely hiring.
“We expect this trend to stay – not only for the year ahead but in the long term. This is because organizations now have more sophisticated HR strategies, corporate infrastructure, and digital tools to support a global and hybrid workforce. This in turn allows them to stay competitive and nimble, where they can turn to global hiring to secure in-demand talents like software engineers – which are sought after by markets around the world, or to retain talent who choose to move abroad,” Ng added.
