Singapore firms on the prowl for digital marketing talents

Some in-demand positions are digital designers and managers.

The latest report by Hays pointed out to the growing need of Singapore firms for sales and marketing recruitment.

According to the recruitment firms, these companies want to harness the power of digital sales and marketing platforms and by the slow but growing economy.

To recall, the Ministry of Trade and Industry forecasts gross domestic product (GDP) growth for 2017 of 1-3%. The Monetary Authority of Singapore data for the last two quarters shows Singapore is currently tracking at about 2.5% economic growth.

Hays in Singapore managing director Lynne Roeder said businesses are cautiously optimistic about the rest of the year. However, to move ahead, these businesses are on the prowl for professionals with strong sales and marketing skills.

"Helping companies generate more sales while also harnessing the powers of digital means getting the right talent on board and in Singapore, that is a challenge right now as companies are often vying for the same hard to find candidate,” she noted, adding that the digital transformation continues to drive the sales and marketing recruitment in most sectors.

Roeder said banks and insurance companies undergoing digital transformation projects are looking to agencies to provide talent they can imbed on longer term contracts to build out digital platforms.

She added that particularly in-demand right now are positions like digital designers and digital managers. Digital and social media managers with excellent data analytical skills remain in strong demand.
