SG best place in the world for freelancers: Tide
Meanwhile, Japan is the worst country to work in freelance.
UK business financial platform Tide released its Freelancer Hotspots: The best countries for a freelance life report on 7 October.
According to the report, Singapore took the top spot as the best place to work as a freelancer in 2021, with a score of 7.35/10. New Zealand was second with 7.20/10, and Spain third with 6.53/10.
On the other hand, Japan took the last spot as the worst country for freelancers at 3.99/10. China and Italy followed in second and third, respectively.
The factors that affected the scores are broadband speed, broadband affordability, searches for freelance work per 100,000 people, co-working spaces per 100,000 people, the strength of legal rights protecting freelancers, cost of living, the Happiness Index from 2017 to 2019, and the Global Gender Gap Index 2020.
