Pace of job creation to remain firm in 2011
Services will account for more than three quarters of total employment gains this year.
According to the MAS's Macroeconomic Review, although the pace will continue to be firm, it will be somewhat uneven across the key sectors.
"Conversely, job creation in manufacturing and construction will be somewhat more subdued," said the MAS.
Wage pressures will build up further in 2011. According to the MAS, the tightness in the labour market is reflected in the rising, or near record high, vacancy rates in several services sectors, which suggests that firms are finding it difficult to fill available positions.
