New foreign workers to undergo additional testing regime
This is to minimise the risk of an imported COVID-19 positive case.
Newly arrived foreign workers approved for entry and staying in dormitories will have to go through an additional seven-day testing regime at a designated facility after their 14-day stay-home notice to minimise risk of transmitting COVID-19 into the dormitories, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) said.
During the testing regime, workers will undergo additional swab tests, whilst still being allowed to work. Any positive case will be swiftly isolated and conveyed to care.
The MTF considers it prudent to reduce the risk of a missed case entering the dormitories as the Ministry of Manpower has started approving the entry of a larger number of foreign workers into Singapore.
