Majority of Singaporeans spooked by negative online comments about employers: survey
85% of citizens say it affects their decision to apply.
Companies may have to check what people are saying about them online, as a survey found out that Singaporeans are conscious of applying for companies who have negative feedback online.
According to a survey by Hays, 31% of respondents said that online comments from former employees definitely influence their decision to apply or work at a particular organisation.
Additionally, 54% said they take the comments into consideration, while only 15% say it doesn’t matter.
“Researching online reviews to aid our decision-making process is now the norm in many aspects of our lives, including when considering to apply or work for an organisation,” said Lynne Roeder, managing director of Hays in Singapore.
