IMDA, NCS rolls out work and study programme for polytechnic grads

The programme will help provide 1,600 tech jobs and training opportunities.

Singtel subsidiary, NCS and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have joined hands to provide 1,600 tech jobs and training opportunities for polytechnic graduates over the next two years.

Through their work and study programme, Fusion, NCS will hire and train 400 polytechnic graduates covering areas such as infrastructure, applications, software development and cybersecurity. 

The programme will support the polytechnic graduates’ enrolment into a degree at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) or Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).

In 2023, NCS will launch a new programme aimed to help 400  Institute of Technical Education (ITE) graduates work and study part-time to attain a diploma in a technology-related field.

The Fusion and ITE Programmes complement NCS’ ongoing Nucleus Programme, which will see 800 University graduates recruited as digital specialists in the next two years.

Meanwhile, NCS will also provide tech internship opportunities for 1,000 students from Institutes of Higher Learning over the next two years.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
