Singaporeans are making good use of technology in looking for jobs with social media recruitment ads getting the most engagement (30%), according to a survey by ManpowerGroup.
Nearly a fourth (24%) job candidates have relied on a smartphone app to apply for a job whilst 15% have relied on messaging the company through text.
Moreover, 12% have participated in a virtual job fair whilst 11% have chatted on an employer website to search for employment opportunities.
Similarly, 7% have tried video interviews and game or skills challenge test from employers whilst 5% have tried looking for a job using voice search through a virtual assistant.
“With every mobile device being either 3G or 4G enabled, Singapore presents opportunities for employers to use digital platforms to engage and enhance the job search experience for potential candidates, especially young adults who are increasingly using their smartphones to complete transactions,” Linda Teo, country manager for ManpowerGroup Singapore said in a statement.
