Here's the most sought-after skills in Singapore from 2012-2022

Majority of workers have skills in business, data, and production management.

Business management, data management, and production management accounted for the majority of the skills composition in the Singapore economy from 2012 to 2022, according to SkillsFuture SG (SSG).

The top skills sought in the business management cluster have shown notable stability over the past decade, SSG said.

Stakeholder management, governance, and process improvement are the skills that became more important approaching 2022. 

Skills that have consistently ranked among the top 10 in 2012, 2017, and 2022 include documentation, audit and compliance, quality assurance, business opportunities development, legal and compliance management, continuous improvement management, and sales and business development.

The top skills sought in the data management cluster also remained relatively consistent over the past decade, with customer data analysis, data protection management, and artificial intelligence application as the skills that became more important in 2022.

Skills that have consistently ranked among the top 10 in 2012, 2017, and 2022 include programming and coding, big data analytics, applications development, engineering problem solving, automation research and implementation, applications support and enhancement, and human resource digitalisation. 

The top skills demanded in the production management cluster experienced some changes over the past decade, with standard operating procedures development, power quality management, and mathematical concepts application being the skills that became more important in 2022.

Skills that have consistently ranked among the top 10 in 2012, 2017, and 2022 include quality assurance, continuous improvement management, electrical fundamentals application, mechanical engineering management, civil and structural engineering management, and preventive maintenance management.
