Here are 4 things you need to know about e-recruiting

It sparks a similarity with dating.

There seems to be a similarity between dating and recruiting with the rise of both online dating and e-recruiting, as screening solutions provider HireRight revealed in its latest study just in time for Valentine's Day.

The study noted four similarities between dating and recruiting nowadays including catfishing, getting references, playing hard to get, and following up.

"An excellent (sometimes, too-good-to-be-true) beefed up LinkedIn profile or CV, which eventually lacks substantiating explanations and proof points in person," HireRight cited, noting that this is very similar to the photoshopped images, make-believe heights and deceptive information aren’t that uncommon nowadays on a majority of dating profiles.

More so, the firm noted that the two are also similar in terms of getting references, given that recruiting now involves getting corporate contacts, backdoor references and background screening.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
