Half a million Singaporeans participated in SkillsFuture programmes

The number is lower than in 2021 but higher than in 2019.

Over 560,000 individuals participated in and benefitted from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)-supported programmes in 2022, data from the statutory board’s report stated.

That same year, 192,000 Singaporeans used their SkillsFuture Credit to offset their course fees to train in these top three areas — food and beverage, information and communications technology, and security and investigation.

Meanwhile, 32,000 individuals undertook courses under the SkillsFuture Series, whilst 1,900 embarked on various SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes, and 1,000 enrolled in the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme.

SSG said in the report that the number of participants last year was lower than 660,000 in 2021 but was higher than 500,000 in 2019.

To reach out to even more Singaporeans, SSG engaged 34,000 individuals through their SkillsFuture Advice workshops, 6,000 more for their one-to-one personalised Skills and Training Advisory services, and 250,000 in the SkillsFuture Festival.

The report also stated that 20,000 Singapore-based enterprises participated in SkillsFuture Singapore-supported programmes in 2022. 96% of them are small and medium enterprises.

Over 5,000 businesses tapped on their SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit to offset course fees for their employees. 

The statutory board revealed that the National Center of Excellence for Workplace Learning supported 500 enterprises in 2022, whilst 700 benefitted from the SkillsFuture Queen Bee initiative.
