Gov’t to raise monthly school fees for permanent residents and international students
The education ministry will implement the increase from 2024 to 2026.
Monthly school fees will increase for permanent residents (PR) and international students (IS) attending government and government-aided schools.
In the next three years (2024-2026), the monthly school fees will increase by $25 to $60 for PR students and $25 to $140 for IS each year.
The revised fees will take effect from January each year.
This means that monthly primary school fees for PRs will jump to $280 in 2024, $205 in 2025, and $330 in 2026, from the current $225.
ASEAN IS will see their monthly fee increase to $545 in 2024, $570 in 2025, and $595 in 2026, from $520 in 2023.
For IS from non-ASEAN countries, the fee will increase from $1,770 to $1,910 in 2024, $2050 in 2025, and $2190 in 2026.
