Dell Technologies launches tech skill accelerator in Singapore
Three unique programs aim to upskill 3,000 Singaporeans.
Dell Technologies will conduct a tech skills accelerator programme that will upskill 3,000 mid-career professionals, fresh graduates, and students in Singapore.
The programme will give them practical knowledge and skills in cloud computing, data protection and management, data science, and big data analytics.
According to Dell Technologies, the programme comes in three parts.
First is the Dell Technologies Skills Up, a five-week training session available to 1,000 employees of Dell’s partner and customer firms enrolled in either the SGUnited Traineeship or Mid-career Pathways programme in Singapore. At the end of the programme, all participants will be evaluated on their technical proficiency and awarded industry-recognised certifications such as the Dell Certified Associate upon passing the examination.
The second is Getting Future Ready, a flexible eight-week training programme piloted by VMware. It will train another 1,000 Singaporeans towards emerging cloud-native jobs and opportunities.
The third will be a collaboration with Singapore Management University to incorporate cloud-native technologies and content into their curriculum that will be conducted to over 1,000 students.
The new initiative aims to meet the growing demand for tech talent and to push the frontiers for digital transformation in Singapore.
