DBS chairman Peter Seah Lim Huat has been appointed as a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers (CPA), the Istana said on 8 January.
Mr Seah was appointed by President Halimah Yacob. His term commenced on 2 January and will run until 1 June 2024.
He replaces Mr Po’ad Shaik Abu Bakar Mattar, whose term on the council expired on 1 January after 14 years of service.
The council provides advice to President Halimah Yacob before she exercises her discretionary powers on fiscal matters related to Singapore’s past reserves and the appointment of key public office holders.
Mr Seah is also the chairman of Singapore Airlines, Singapore Health Services and Lasalle College of the Arts.

The newest Singapore store, at NEX at Serangoon Central, is opening its doors in a matter of days – on 11 January.
The new space at Basement 1 of the shopping mall takes up more than 2,500 sq ft with 73 seats available.
Its first outlet at Plaza Singapura opened on 16 December 2019.
The American casual restaurant chain is known for its customisable burgers, with customers able to dictate what toppings – there are 15 free ones to choose from – they want.
You can also have your burgers without buns if you’re cutting down on carbs as a New Year resolution, and opt for a lettuce wrap or bowl.

A redevelopment site at 2F Gerald Crescent has been launched for sale by tender with a guide price of $25m, revealed sole marketing agent Edmund Tie.
This works out to around $785 per sq ft based on the site’s area of 2,962 sq m (31,882 sq ft).
Located within the Seletar Hills landed housing estate, the 999-year leasehold site is occupied by a vacant bungalow.
The regular shaped site, which is zoned for three-storey mixed landed housing under the 2019 Master Plan, is suited for “a variety of landed housing types and combinations,” said the marketing agent.
It is near Sungei Punggol river as well as the Punggol Park Connector.
