Civil servants to receive 0.45 month mid-year bonus in July
Around 1,400 civil servants will also benefit from a higher one-off lump sum payment.
Civil servants can expect to receive a mid-year bonus of 0.45 month in July, as well as a one-off lump sum payment of $200, an announcement by the Public Service Division (PSD) revealed.
Lower-wage civil servants in Grades IV and V of the Operations Support Scheme (OSS) will receive a higher lump sum of $300, and a built-in wage increase of up to $50 for civil servants in Grade V of the OSS which is said to be over and above their annual increment, can also be expected.
“The mid-year payments signal the government’s continued commitment to support our lower-wage civil servants. Around 1,400 civil servants will benefit from the higher lump sum payment,” PSD noted.
The bonuses and lump sum payments were decided based on Singapore’s projected economic growth and labour market. Based on preliminary estimates, the economy grew up by 1.2% in Q1 2019, and is expected to grow by 1.5% to 2.5% for the full year.
