Chart of the Day: What's the most in-demand skill in Singapore?
The Smart Nation blueprint fuels demand for individuals skilled in cloud computing and data mining.
This chart from Monster’s Monster Employment Index Q1 2019 report showed that cloud computing is the most in-demand skill in Singapore at 10.3%, followed by data scientist capabilities at 6.7%.
Coming at third and fourth are web developing (6.3%) and data mining (4.3%) skills.

“As Singapore’s digital infrastructure has paved the way to boost cloud computing adoption, it comes as no surprise that Singapore’s demand for talent in that area is greater than anywhere else in the region,” the firm said in a report.
On the other hand, the most sought-after skill in Malaysia is digital marketing and data scientist skills in the Philippines.
“With the increasing demand for cloud technology, ranging from the financial industry and off-shore refineries to small and medium-sized enterprises, the cloud computing market revenue in Southeast Asia is estimated to reach US$40.32b by 2025,” the firm added.
