Chart of the Day: Singaporeans worked 42.9 hours a week in June
The percentage of part-time workers rose despite the slight climb in their work hours.
This chart from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) reveals that the average weekly usual hours worked among employed residents declined for the ninth successive year to 42.9 hours in June, from 43.0 hours YoY.
This was attributed to the continued growth in share of part-timers in the workforce, which outweighed their slight climb in work hours from 20.9 to 21.1 hours over the same period.
Meanwhile, the average work hours of full-timers held steady at 45.8 hours, after trending down from its 2010 peak.
