Chart of the Day: Only 28% of Singaporean organisations offer data training to all employees 

Less than half of Singaporean workers with data roles offered data training.

About 3 in 10 or 28% of Singapore organisations offer data training to all employees even as most organisations recognise the importance of data literacy, data visualisation software firm, Tableau, said in its study.

In its poll, it also indicated that 31% of organisations in the Lion City provide data training to some employees who have no traditional data roles whilst 41% offer training to workers with traditional roles.

Overall, in the Asia-Pacific Japan organisations, 38% only offer training to employees in traditional data roles, Tableau said.

With this figure, Tableau said it leaves workers to learn through ad-hoc, on-the-job learning, including from coworkers.

This is in contrast to the study findings that 80% of decision makers believed that their organisation successfully equips its workers with the needed data literacy skills.
