Chart of the Day: Online hiring in advertising and public relations sector climbed 29% in March

It was thanks to Singaporeans spending more time online.

This chart from Monster shows that online hiring in the advertising, market research, public relations, media and entertainment space in Singapore rose 29% in March as compared to 15% in February and 16% in January, which reflects double-digit growth throughout Q1.

This was attributed to Singaporeans spending more time on mobile sites and apps.

It was also compared to its neighbouring countries Philippines and Malaysia, which saw 7% MoM and 14% MoM growth respectively. Malaysia recovered after experienced setbacks in January (-7%) and February (-9%), after the nation enacted more policies to attract investors and bring in sophisticated technology, such as advertising technology.
