Chart of the Day: Number of workers in short work week rose to 1,010 in Q2
There were 230 temporarily laid off.
This chart from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) shows the number of workers on temporary laid-off and short work-week rose from 1,180 in 2016 to 1,240 in 2Q2017.
Workers placed in short work-week reached 1,010. Those in temporary layoff amounted to 230.
Mostly 57% were from manufacturing, 23% from construction, and 20% from services.
Amongst worker types, 61% were production & transport operators, cleaners & labourers, followed by PMETs at 33%, and clerical, sales & service workers at 5.8%.
