Chart of the Day: Most residents outside labour force finished secondary school or less
One in 10 of the residents held a degree.
This chart from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) reveals that 43.3% of residents outside the labour force held below secondary qualifications as of June, whilst 25% had secondary qualifications at most. One in 10 held were degree holders
Additionally, almost half or 46.5% of the residents outside the labour force were 60 years old above, with many of them noted to have retired. Another 27% were aged 15 to 24. Female residents also took up majority of residents outside the labour force at 62.6%.
There were 1.09 million or 32% of residents aged 15 or older that were outside the labour force in June.
