CHART OF THE DAY: More Singaporeans see the positive impact of AI on education
Four in 10 are against banning the use of ChatGPT in schools.
More Singaporeans believe that technological advances, including AI, will have a positive impact on education (27%) rather than a negative one (13%).
However, the share of those who view technology's impact on education as more negative than positive has risen from 11% in 2023 to 13% in 2024.
At the same time, the share of those who see a more positive impact has dropped from 37% in 2023 to 27% in 2024.
Nearly half of Singaporeans remained neutral, suggesting technology has both positive and negative impacts on education.
This perspective likely influenced their views on ChatGPT use in schools, with 27% supporting a ban and 48% against it.
In 2023, 29% favoured banning ChatGPT, while 46% opposed the ban.
