Chart of the Day: CEOs in Singapore earn 30-50% more than their Southeast Asian counterparts

The median salary of Singapore-based CEOs that raised $0-5m in funding is US$6,450, compared to US$4,400.

CEOs outside of Singapore earned base salaries that are 30-50% lower than those based in Singapore, a report found. 

The median salary of Singapore-based CEOs that raised US$0-5m in funding is US$6,450, compared to US$4,400 base monthly salaries of non-Singapore-based CEOs.

For those that raised $6-10m, the median salary stood at $10,350; whilst those that raised $11-50m had a median salary of US$16,350.

This is above the median salary of US$7,300 and US$7,850 for non-Singapore-based CEOs, respectively. 

“We expect the growth rate of base salary compensation for CEOs to decrease in the next few years,” Lingga Madu, Venture Partner at Monk’s Hill Ventures, said.

“In a time where you’re cutting bonuses, restructuring, and shrinking the team, it is better for culture to at least freeze or cut C-suite salaries.”
