Almost half of employers to amp up tech investments after pandemic
40% say they are fully equipped to support remote work schemes.
Almost half or 46% of employers said they will increase their investments to improve their technology capabilities and overall organisational agility after the COVID-19 pandemic, a survey by Randstad Singapore found.
Of the 312 employers and HR professionals who partook in the survey, 40% stated that they are fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure to support remote work. Meanwhile, 15% of the employers will also issue laptops to their employees, whilst 19% will review and upgrade their digital infrastructure, and 12% will upgrade their network security system.
A silver lining is seen for employees as 14% of the respondents are expected to offer remote working as an employee benefit in the future as productivity levels of employees increased after implementing work-from-home measures.
Further, 41% of respondents said that they are still hiring for replacement and critical roles. However, 40% of respondents have frozen headcount, and 16% said they are applying other measures to mitigate losses.
