8 in 10 employees upgrade their skills on their own
About 45% sign up for curriculum courses.
The Q3 Randstad Workmonitor report showed that 83%, or eight in 10, Singaporean employees think it is a responsibility to update their skills and competencies.
This is lower than the global average of nine employees out of 10.
Randstad said 45% are more inclined to sign up for curriculum courses, whilst 35% attend online courses on their own.
More men take the responsibility of upgrading their skills at 84%, compared to women at 82%.
About 83% of those aged 35 to 54 years old are burdened to keep their skills updated, compared to 82% of their younger counterparts.
