7 in 10 Singaporeans want jobs with overseas travel
Nearly 4 in 5 are even willing to relocate for the role.
About 72% of Singaporeans want to work in a role that allows them to travel internationally, according to a survey by Randstad.
Close to eight in 10 respondents (78%) aged between 18 and 34 are even willing to relocate to pursue a meaningful career. As a result, Randstad observed that there is an increasing number of global and regional-level roles based in Singapore, particularly in the areas of business development, sales and marketing, accounting and finance, and even software development.

In addition, 79% stated that they would relocate if they can have both a meaningful career and a good work-life balance. Three in four (74%) would move for a higher salary, whilst 66% said that they will also do so if it means that they can keep their jobs with their current employers.
The top three choices for locally-based respondents to relocate to are Australia, Japan and the US, respectively. However, Randstad’s data also showed that six in 10 respondents (58%) would rather switch career than move to another country.
“A majority of the locals would choose to stay in Singapore to remain close to their friends and family because of its relatively stable and safe environment,” managing director at Randstad Singapore and Malaysia Jaya Dass said.
