Allied World funds school in Cambodia

The school will serve as a co-ed primary school for 600 students.

According to a release, Allied World’s charity committee funded the building of a primary school in Chhay Balang, Cambodia. The school was built by the Tabitha Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, which promotes self-sufficiency and dignity in Cambodia’s poorest communities through savings, counseling, and goal-setting programs.

The school opening was held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Bruce Ford, Senior Vice President, International Treaty, Allied World Singapore was present for the opening and has acted as the point person for this initiative. The school will serve as a co-ed primary school for 600 students. Allied World funded the complete construction of six class rooms, and the Cambodian government will cover the teachers and necessary school supplies. Demand for enrollment was so high that currently 300 students are already on the waiting list
