Check out BAE Systems’ new open-plan office at One Raffles Place

Quiet Rooms help isolate staff from office noise.

BAE Systems’ Applied Intelligence, a multinational defense firm specializing in addressing cybersecurity threats, has just launched its expanded office at One Raffles Place.

The new office follows an open plan in order to allow for ease of collaboration across different teams. To help staff cope with noise, the office also has designated Quiet Rooms provide staff with space to isolate themselves from the surrounding office noise.

“We encountered a couple of obstacles when relocating to the new office, with one being the extremely tight timelines imposed on us to complete renovating the new office within 3 months,” shared Sanjay Samuel, Managing Director JAPAC, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.

The biggest obstacle was getting the company’s Mulitprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network links installed, given that it required a specialist link specific to BAE Systems. The MPLS network link was delayed, and the company was only given a heads up one day prior to its move date.

“Thankfully for us, we had a fantastic working relationship with the landlord of the building, and also had 2 weeks lease left on our legacy office space (on the 23rd floor of the same building). We managed to install our own cabling from the old server room to the new server room (which was over 20 floors higher!) in one night, ensuring that we de-risked the link issue while waiting for installation of the permanent links,” Samuel noted.

He added that BAE Systems expanded its local office in order to provide better services to its clients in Singapore.

“The successful move ensured that the project went according to schedule, with no disruptions to our business and credibility, so that we can reinforce our commitment to helping Singapore in being a perfect example of a nation taking the lead in protecting itself in this region,” he said.
