Meritus Hotels & Resorts appoints Sengol CEO

Recently appointed COO of Meritus Hotels & Resorts, Michael Sengol is now taking on a new role as Chief Executive Officer of the hotel management company.

"Michael joins us at an exciting time when the company is looking to establish new benchmarks for hospitality standards and expanding the key locations where we operate," said Dr Stephen Riady, Chairman of company owner Overseas Union Enterprise.

Previously based in the United Kingdom, Sengol as Chief Executive Officer of OUE’s Hospitality Division will now be based in Singapore to oversee the expansion of the company.

The new CEO has over 30 years of experience in the industry and has worked with hotel brands including the Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Millennium & Copthorne. Pre-opening hotels, monitoring and ensuring project functionality and viability, implementing cost management while enhancing revenue opportunities, effective yield management techniques, and developing comprehensive training programmes are among Sengol’s areas of expertise.
