Tourist arrivals dropped 6.1% in Q1 as Chinese, Indonesian tourists vanish
The republic welcomed 3.64m tourists.
Overall tourist arrivals dropped 6.1% year-on-year to just 3.6m visitors in the first quarter, data from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) showed.
The decline was fuelled by a 15.7% drop in Indonesian tourist arrivals and an 8.6% drop in Chinese tourist arrivals.
The total number of tourist arrivals dropped 7.4% to 1.2m in March. The number of Indonesian tourists fell 14.2% while the number of Chinese tourists fell by a whopping 21%.
