Tourism Board signs 3-year deal with Walt Disney

The collaboration will kick off with the Star Wars Day.

Moana, Luke Skywalker, and Mickey Mouse may soon roam the streets of Singapore.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia announced a three-year collaboration aimed at providing unique experiences themed around Disney’s biggest brands and most popular stories and characters.

The partnership will kick off with the celebration of Star Wars’ 40th anniversary, Star Wars Day: May the 4th Be With You Festival, a three-day event that will be held at the Gardens by the Bay.

STB chief Lionel Yeo said the partnership will add vibrancy to their existing events laid out for the whole year. He said this will attract visitors from across the Southeast Asia region and beyond.

"The multi-year activations will profile our attractions and precincts in Singapore, beginning with Gardens by the Bay for the Star Wars festival held in May. Our collaboration with Disney will also offer plentiful opportunities for local event organisers and SMEs to grow their businesses and enhance their capabilities in world-class branded entertainment events," he added.
