Singapore is the second most popular outbound business travel destinations for Chinese businesses, according to Trip.Biz, the corporate travel arm of Trip.com Group.
The Corporate Travel Management Market White Paper also reported that business travel spending in the city-state is anticipated to increase by more than 75%.
Singapore is the top performers in the APAC region, along with Thailand and New Zealand.
Overall, the APAC region is projected to experience a 41.2% increase in business travel expenditure.
A Trip.Biz survey showed that over 50% of businesses plan to adopt AI technologies for tasks like itinerary planning and data analysis.
“Travel managers and travellers expressed hope that AI could be used in itinerary planning, process optimisation, data analysis and more to minimise human error and repetitive tasks,” it noted.
AI also helps with tasks like invoice verification and personalisation, though regulatory concerns persist.
Moreover, sustainability is a priority, with 91.6% of business travelers favouring low-emission options. Key ESG measures include promoting sustainable travel, employee welfare, and paperless offices.
