Indonesia grants SG PR holders visa-free entry in select areas

Travellers can stay for a maximum of four days.

The Directorate General of Immigration in Indonesia has introduced a free visit visa (BVK) policy for foreign nationals holding permanent residency in Singapore, allowing them to visit Batam, Bintan, and Karimun Regency in the Kepulauan Riau region.

Under the policy, travellers can stay for a maximum of four days and are allowed to enter through designated ports, including Nongsa Terminal Bahari, Marina Teluk Senimba, Batam Center, Citra Tri Tunas, Sekupang, Sri Bintan Pura, Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi, and Tanjung Balai Karimun.

According to Silmy Karim, director general of Immigration, the BVK policy is intended to boost tourism in these areas by attracting visitors from Singapore. The policy also aims to boost business and investment in the special economic zones (SEZ) such as the Nongsa SEZ in Batam and Bintan Resorts, which focus on digital business and the creative economy.
