ICA begins token-less clearance at Changi, to complete the rollout by September

The agency also expanded its QR code clearance to motorcyclists.

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) launched a passport-less immigration clearance at Changi Airport for all Singapore residents and eligible foreign travellers.

All travellers will also get an automated clearance.

The New Clearance Concept (NCC) will offer token-less clearance at air and sea checkpoints and QR code clearance at land checkpoints.

ICA will begin token-less clearance on 5 August at selected automated lanes in Changi Airport Terminal 3 for arriving Singaporeans. By September, all Changi Airport terminals will support their token-less clearance. Meanwhile, such features will be available at Marina Bay Cruise Centre by December.

Meanwhile, ICA said group QR codes can be stored and reused for future trips if the travel group remains the same.

ICA also announced that QR code clearance will be extended to motorcyclists, pillion riders, cargo vehicle drivers, and accompanying assistants by August and to bus passengers by December. 

ICA started implementing QR code clearance on 19 March for car travellers and extended it to bus drivers on 15 April. Now, over 70% of car travellers and bus drivers utilise the QR code for immigration clearance.
