Singapore Tourism Board to award individuals and organisations

2nd Singapore Experience Awards to recognise people and groups for enhancing country’s image as tourist destination.

The Singapore Experience Awards is back for its second year with the call for nominations commencing 1 June 2010.

This prestigious annual event by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) recognises individuals and organisations for their outstanding contribution towards enhancing Singapore’s competitiveness as a tourism destination. Its award categories encompass a wide cross-section of the tourism sector including Hospitality, Retail, Dining, Entertainment, Attractions, Business Travel and MICE, Education and Healthcare. This gala event is scheduled for the last quarter of the year.

“The Singapore Experience Awards received more than 24,000 unique nominations in 2009. This strong show of support is a clear signal that both the public and industry appreciate the value of a holistic customer experience. We want the Awards to encourage a continuous drive towards improvement and innovation, and look forward to receiving quality nominations demonstrating this integrated approach,” said Ms Neeta Lachmandas, STB’s Executive Director of Capability Development.

Increasing recognition for Healthcare and Education industry
There are 31 awards this year, including three new awards under the Experience category: Best Education Experience, Best Enrichment Experience and Best Healthcare Experience. The inclusion of these new categories is consistent with STB’s efforts to position the Singapore Experience Awards as the single platform to recognise the best experience providers within the tourism sector, including those in the education and healthcare industries.

The Singapore Experience Awards span six categories – Events, Experience, Marketing and Media, Customer Service, Special Recognition and Outstanding Contribution.

Nominations for all awards should reflect how individuals and organisations have developed an all-encompassing experience for their customers, which goes beyond product offerings to quality service delivery such as providing the necessary touch points and enabling a seamless and pleasant experience.

Award recipients are adjudged the best in their respective fields, becoming key role models and providing strong motivation in the push to product and service excellence in Singapore’s tourism industry.

Nominations for the Singapore Experience Awards will close on 30 June 2010. The qualifying period for all entries is from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
