Cure for wanderlust: Giant eco-park opens in Riau

Funtasy Island and theme park specialist Seven Seas recently signed a joint venture to build the world’s largest eco-theme park in Riau Islands, a 20-minute ferry boat ride from Singapore.

Pegged at $200 million, the 300-hectare eco-park will offer various activities such as sailing, snorkelling, diving, nature walks, spas, dining and clubbing.

Aside from these activities, the park will feature key eco-zones where tourists can unwind and be one with nature: Avatar Habitat, Rainforest Paradise, Simia Adventure, Mangrove Safari Ride, Riau Jungle Explorer, Aqua Adventure, Dolphin Discovery Habitat, and Deep Ocean Wonder.

The theme park is expected to open in 2015.
