BIG Hotel opens in Middle Road

See what makes it so unique.

BIG Hotel, a locally-developed new hospitality brand, has opened its inaugural property on Middle Road. BIG Hotel is the first-of-its-kind as it is the first hotel in Singapore that is a large-scale renovation of an office building, said developer ERC Holdings.

Chairman of ERC Holdings, Andy Ong, has major development plans for the brand and aims to expand the BIG Hotel regionally. He says, “We are very excited about BIG Hotel entering the market and how it looks to provide travellers with a new option that is a hybrid of business, luxury and design-boutique type hotels. We’re confident about the brand and we have big plans to take it regional.”

"Targeted at the savvy, design-conscious traveller, BIG Hotel features a chic, Scandinavian-influenced interior that is comfortable, homely and stylish. On top of complimentary Wifi found in all of its 308 rooms, BIG Hotel also features a personal in-room tablet that is a first in Singapore. BIG Hotel has developed a software app that allows guests to control room temperature, TV and lighting whilst surfing the Internet and provides guests with island-wide 3G connectivity as well," said the company in a release.

"Located on the corner of Middle Road and Bencoolen Street, the hotel is within walking distance to Singapore’s historical district with attractions such as the National Museum and Singapore Arts Museum nearby. At the same time, it keeps close proximity to the central business district, popular shopping belt Orchard Road and cultural enclave, Little India, making it a perfect and convenient choice for both leisure and business travellers," it added.

As an opening special, BIG is opening its doors with a promotional rate of SGD 128 ++ for its Superior rooms category. Promo rates for the room come with complimentary Wifi, free movies on demand, in-room tablet as well as access to satellite radio and Internet-protocol television (IPTV), the company said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

30 One-Sentence Stories From People Who Have Built Better Habits
None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
