Lonza appoints Stefan Stoffel as COO of Pharma Biotech & Nutrition

Stoffel will be responsible for the segment’s operations, quality, engineering and strategic growth.

Stefan Stoffel has been appointed to a new role on the Executive Committee as COO of Lonza Pharma Biotech & Nutrition (LPBN) segment, responsible for operations from March 1.

In his newly created position, Stefan Stoffel will cover operations, quality, engineering and strategic growth initiatives across the LPBN segment. Stefan has been working Lonza since 1991 and is currently the senior vice president for global operations pharma & biotech.

Stefan will join incoming CEO Marc Funk , COO of Lonza’s specialty ingredients Sven Abend and CFO Rodolfo Savitzky on the Executive Committee.

The LPBN segment is a new structure that includes translation of technology and knowhow from pharma to nutrition, including regulatory and scientific expertise. The commercial functions of the new segment will be driven by Marc Funk for the time being.
