More S’poreans to have medical subsidies from revised income criteria

The monthly PCHI threshold for each tier will be raised ranging from $100 to $800.

Up to 1.1 million Singaporeans are expected to benefit from subsidies as the Ministry of Health (MOH) revises the income criteria for healthcare schemes and grants.

The monthly per capita household income (PCHI) threshold for each subsidy tier will be raised ranging from $100 to $800. 

For instance, the monthly PCHI to qualify for maximum grant for Community Health Assist Scheme Blue card and MediShield Life and CareShield Lide Premium subsidies will both increase to $1,500 from $1,200

The qualifying monthly PCHI for Palliative Care services and Acute Hospital will both increase to $2,100 from $800 and $1,800, respectively.

Aside from these adjustments, the MOH raised subsidies for some services. This includes the enhanced Community Hospital subsidy framework that will give Singapore citizens subsidies of at least 50%, up from currently 30% under the current framework.

MOH will also expand the list of subsidised diagnostic services at community hospitals starting 1 December 2024.
