Looking into how the COVID-19 emerged will need “radical and complete transparency,” Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan told CNBC.

Balakrishnan said without having access to the data, it will be almost impossible to analyse and find out how it originated.

The virus was first reported in Wuhan City, China in 2019.

The National Trade Unions Congress (NTUC) will be asking for support for those who were unemployed, Assistant Secretary-General Patrick Tay said.

The union will also seek benefits for Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) who were displaced due to the pandemic.

The NTUC had consulted over 9,000 PMEs aged between 20 and 60 years old. The key concerns that emerged were about job security and employability.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore reported a total of 243 air travel passes were issued to travellers coming from Hong Kong and Macao.

Of this number, 230 were issued for Hong Kong, whilst the other 13 were for Macao.

This will be the first short-term visitors to arrive in Singapore under the Air Travel Pass scheme.
