ComfortDelGro Group has launched a non-emergency medical transport service with an initial fleet of 10 wheelchair-accessible minibuses, with more to be added “as demand grows”, said the company on 8 March.

The “specialised medical escort transport” service will cater to the mobility needs of the elderly and people with disabilities, said ComfortDelGro in a media release.

Bookings during peak periods on weekdays — from 7 AM to 11 AM and from 3 PM to 7 PM — are $113 for a one-way trip and $225 for a two-way trip.

Off-peak bookings from 11.01 AM to 2.59 PM on weekdays are $95 for a one-way trip and $189 for a two-way trip.

The minibus, which can accommodate up to three wheelchairs and five seated passengers, can also be booked for one-way or two-way trips at an hourly rate ranging from $63 to $75, depending on the time it is booked.

Neuron Mobility has announced it is launching a fleet of 2,000 e-scooters in the South Korean capital, Seoul. The company claims the move will create over 100 jobs in Korea and an additional 30 roles in their Singapore headquarters.

The scooters will be fitted with an app-controlled helmet lock — a critical differentiator in the Korean market where recently updated laws require all riders to wear a helmet.

Founded in 2016, the Singapore-based operates its e-scooter business across 10 cities in Australia and New Zealand. As part of its international plans, the company expanded its business to the United Kingdom last year.

Hong Kong-based fintech firm Kiwi Pay Group and Cambodia’s food and grocery delivery startup Meal Temple Group have announced a strategic merger to address frontier markets with a new super app called KiwiGO.

KiwiGO, to be located in Singapore, will aggregate curated content, e-commerce, logistics, and financial services.

“KiwiPay and Meal Temple had very similar DNA, combined, we play with better control of the value chain, new roads to market, and optimised defensibilities,” said Meal Temple Group CEO Maxime Rosburger.

KiwiGO already has agreements and licences with central banks and financial institutions in more than 20 countries in Africa and Asia.

In 2019, Meal Temple Group acquired Laos-based MyDelivery, a unit of fintech firm Kiwi Group.
