Vygon claims SBR International Business Awards for Pharmaceutical

Here’s how its safe-enteral.com will alter the healthcare landscape.

Vygon’s notable business involves quality and reliability in the field of single-use medical and surgical products. More than this, however, it also aims to bring reforms to the healthcare landscape.

This has led to remarkable initiatives such as its safe-enteral.com website. The project, "How Vygon's safe-enteral.com will change healthcare landscape," won the Singapore Business Review International Business Awards, Pharmaceuticals category. Representatives Christhope Deffontaines, Vice President - Asia Pacific, Vincent Chen, Sales Director South East Asia, and Thanapathy Kumaraiah, MD Vygon Asia/Regional Director Vygon Asia Oceania, accepted the award on Vygon's behalf.

Vygon has been offering a unique array of solutions for the safe feeding of preterm babies. When implemented into a hospital, their robust team provides needed support to the nurses for handling the device efficiently. To contribute more to the education of users, Vygon launched safe-enteral.com in April 2017, a website dedicated to the therapeutic implications of enteral feeding.

The site provides important information for medical staff and raises awareness about the therapeutic benefits and risks associated with the new connection standards for enteral feeding devices. The site has a special focus on premature neonates and newborns, considered as a high-risk population.

Accurate dosing of drugs is crucial for these tiny patients who, in some cases, have to be given very low doses of powerful drugs several times a day. As part of the ISO working group, Vygon interviewed nearly 120 neonatologists in 11 countries. These specialists cited high-accuracy dosing amongst their main concerns. Thanks to its unique expertise, Vygon is the only company to offer a totally safe solution, compliant with the new ISO standard and suitable for all categories of patients.

Vygon is not only present in the neonatology field but also offers solutions for the haemodynamic monitoring and for oncology or for emergency medicine. Vygon intends to continue developing its business through innovation, industrial performance and education to contribute up to 20% of the group sales in 2022 in the global region.

The SBR International Business Awards was held on June 8 2017 at the Conrad Centennial Singapore.

This year's nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Ng Jiak See, executive director and head of corporate finance advisory at Deloitte Singapore & Southeast Asia; Choo Eng Chuan, ASEAN markets leader and partner, international and corporate tax services at Ernst & Young Solutions LLP; Toh Kim Teck, assurance partner at Foo Kon Tan LLP; and Henry Tan, managing director at NEXIA TS.
