SG enforces vaccination-differentiated safe management measures

Establishments covered by this include shopping malls and large standalone stores.

Starting 13 October 2021, Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) will be implemented for entry to all shopping malls and large standalone stores, according to a joint media statement by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Enterprise Singapore.

Only fully vaccinated persons will be allowed to enter these establishments, with some exceptions. 

Unvaccinated persons who are looking for medical attention from doctors, dentists and registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners will be allowed entry. A proof of appointment will be required. 

Caregivers who are unvaccinated and either dropping off or picking up children from preschools and childcare centers will also be allowed, with a letter of support from the establishment required.

Children 12 years and below, as well as unvaccinated persons who have recovered from COVID-19 or those with a negative pre-event test result will also be permitted entry. 

A grace period will be implemented from October 13 to 19, 2021, in order for the checks to be phased in. Unvaccinated persons during their period will be allowed entry with a reminder. 

Workers who are currently unvaccinated in malls and large standalone stores have been required to go twice weekly testing under the “Vaccinate or Regular Test” program since October 1, 2021. Due to this, these workers will continue to to have access to their workplaces.
