Singapore F&B sales up 4.4% in September
Food caterers had the most growth in sales at 36.4% YoY.
Food and beverage sales for Singapore were up 4.4% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis to $669m, according to the Department of Statistics Singapore. Month-on-month (MoM), an increase of 12.1% was also reflected.
YoY, food caterers had the best performance at 36.4%, due to the low base in the previous year. This was followed by fast food outlets and cafes, food courts and other eating places at 10.7 and 8.4%, respectively.
Meanwhile, restaurants fell by 5.2% due to tightened dine-in restrictions.
MoM, the opposite can be seen as restaurants increased by 27.7%, due to the lower base in August 2021.
Cafes, food courts and other eating places, fast food outlets and food caterers, also followed suit with 5.7%, 3.4% and 1.9% increases, respectively.
