F&B sales grow stronger in May

Sales rose 2.9% YoY and 2.1% MoM.

Food and beverage (F&B) sales expanded by 2.9 YoY in May, a stronger growth compared to April, when sales grew 0.1% YoY. 

Month-on-month, sales rose by 2.1%.

Sales value clocked in at $1.0b. Of the total sales value, 23.9% was from online sales.

According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), three of the four industries recorded year-on-year sales growth in April 2024, led by  Food Caterers, which posted an 18.8 YoY and 6.1% MoM increase. 

Cafes, Food Courts and Other Eating Places recorded a 4.5% YoY and 2.7% MoM sales increase, whilst Fast Food Outlets saw a 0.9% YoY and 2.7% MoM uptick.

On the other hand, Restaurants reported a 1.4 YoY dip but a 1.7% MoM increase in sales.
