Almost half of Singaporeans say they ‘sometimes’ experience food insecurity
Singaporeans cite six reasons for their food insecurity.
Some (42.7%) Singaporeans say they “sometimes” experience food insecurity, data from the Southeast Asia Climate Outlook Report 2023 showed.
The majority, however, feel otherwise, saying they do not experience food insecurity at all.
Of those who experience food insecurity, most (50.4%) point to rising food prices as its main cause.
Some cite climate change (23.7%), poor government policy (15.9%), lack of agriculture investment (5.9%), and food export bans (11.1%) as factors causing their food insecurity.
