
Fraser & Neave sets up new division to manage ice-cream business
F&N Creameries will integrate and consolidate the management and operations of the Group's ice cream business across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
According to Fraser & Neaves, the recent acquisition by its subsidiary F&N Foods Pte Ltd of King’s Creameries (S) Private Limited is in line with of F&N’s strategy to scale up and strengthen its ice-cream business and presence to become a leading ice-cream player in the growth markets of ASEAN. F&N Creameries will oversee the Group’s combined ice-cream operations to extract synergies as well as consolidate and offer a complementary portfolio of brands and products to satisfy a diversity of consumer segments. It will also manage a portfolio of all-time favourites, MAGNOLIA and MEADOW GOLD, as well as the newly-acquired KING’S brand.
Mr Koh Poh Tiong, F&N’s Chief Executive Officer, Food and Beverage Division, said, “Icecream is a business that the Group wants to build on. F&N Creameries was set up in recognition of the unique requirements of the ice-cream business in relation to our existing dairy and soft drinks businesses. We continue to be fully committed to meeting the diverse needs of our consumers and will dedicate both resources and talent to this separate business in order to grow our ice-cream business in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and contribute to the growth of our food and beverage portfolio.”
F&N Creameries will be led by Mr. Lye Jit Hui, previously General Manager of F&N Foods Pte Ltd, the Group’s food and beverage business unit in Singapore. He brings with him seven years of experience in the food and beverage industry. F&N Creameries is setting its sights on expanding its brand portfolio and increasing its market share in the future through product innovation as well as expansion to new markets in the region.
