NETS, Singtel team up to expand digital cross-border payment services

It leverages Singtel’s ConnectPlus Managed Network and AWS’ cloud computing platform.

Network for Electronic Transfer (NETS) has partnered with Singtel to expand its digital cross-border payment services, a press release revealed.

It aims to leverage Singtel’s ConnectPlus Managed Network and Amazon Web Services’ (AWS’) cloud computing platform that would see NETS’ platform at more retail outlets abroad in Southeast Asia, whilst foreign visitors will be able to make payment to NETS’ merchants in Singapore using overseas e-wallets and services.

With this partnership, NETS claims that they will be able to provide quick and localised connectivity for potential partners to access its cross-border payment services.

“NETS merchants in Singapore will be able to accept selected overseas partner wallets from visitors in the region, and benefit from operational cost efficiencies by connecting to a broader range of payment partners to provide a better experience for their customers,” said Lawrence Chan, group CEO of NETS.

Singtel will use its network services to provide secure high-speed connectivity to support NETS’ regional payment network. Singtel’s cloud gateway service simplifies network management, enabling NETS to also deploy and manage its virtual private clouds around the region conveniently and efficiently.
