MAS appoints two new members for board of directors

They are Alvin Tan Sheng Hui and Ng Wai King.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced the appointment of Alvin Tan Sheng Hui and Ng Wai King to its board of directors.

The appointments will take effect from 22 November 2021 to 31 May 2024.

Tan is Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth. Before joining the government in September 2020, Tan took part in leadership roles across the APAC region at LinkedIn, Facebook, and Goldman Sachs.

Meanwhile, Ng is the Managing Partner of WongPartnership. He is also a member of the National University of Singapore Board of Trustees, the Governing Council of Singapore Institute of Directors, the management committee of Lakeside Family Services, and the Director on the Boards of Wah Hin and Company Private Limited and Singapore Institute of Legal Education.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
