Foreign reserves up 8.2% to $343.3b in August

Singapore's foreign reserves in August climbed 8.2% YoY from $343.3b (US$252.3b) last year to $371.6b (US$273.1b) in 2017.
According to Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), total securities reached $368.1b ($270.5b).
Meanwhile, total currency and deposits with banks hit $68.2b (US$50.1b).
The country's International Monetary Fund (IMF) reserve position is at $1.3b (US$943.4m).
Special drawing rights (SDR) reached $1.5b (US$1.1b).
